PAGHAM/ALDWICK/BOGNOR

These are fairly consistent beaches all year round throwing up Bass, Congers, Smoothhounds, Bream, and Rays along with the spectacular edition of some huge Stingrays with dozens being caught each year up to 70lb+ making it one of the very best spots in the country to try and land a fish of a lifetime.

To the right of Pagham beach is the entrance to Pagham Harbour, which can be a great spot for lure anglers looking to take advantage of the Bass traffic moving in and out of the harbour. At low tide this incredible section of beach reveals itself like no other, with several hundred yards of sea bed being exposed, allowing anglers to fish far out into the sea at boat fishing ranges whilst having their feet placed firmly on the ground.

Pagham/Aldwick, this stretch of beach could throw anything up really. With a 20lb+ congers, along with huge Stingrays, Smoothhounds, Bass, Thornback and Undulate Rays very frequent visitors through the warmer months. It’s also one of the better local beaches to pick up a plaice or flounder from January to March time.

As Aldwick leads to Bognor we have our most local pier, that is frequently fished, and again can throw a number of species just like the surrounding beaches. Bognor beach towards Felpham is a flatter sandy beach very good for Smoothhounds, Rays and Bass through the summer months.

Top tips:

  • Set your drag!! There are monsters in these waters that are fond of Ragworm and they will take your rods should you not be ready.

  • A great beach for a variety of species, to bump those species hunt numbers up.

  • One short, one long. A steep beach that has a decent depth at high tide just 20-30yards out, which is bass town!!
